Breeding
We match our bucks and does to try to produce offspring that will be both functional and profitable. Building pedigrees so that we are left with bucks that can be long lasting herd sires and does that are very prolific. We have introduced color to our program so customers see the eye appealing goats that we are capable of producing. We have traditionals as well as blacks, reds, paints and dapples.
Market
We breed for real meat goats! This means that we want our kids to be able to hold the meat capacity needed to have a good carcass quality. We have had many of our wethers go as 4H and FFA projects and we are happy to be able to help out many kids with their goat project. We strive to produce competitive wethers to fit the show ring!
Herd Management
All of our goats are treated with the best of care from day 1. When the first kids hit the ground we go into our routine for kidding season. We feed the mothers in enclosed environments to be able to ensure they get the nutrients they need to be successful mothers. Kids are given CD&T shots at 6 weeks of age and this is when the bucklings are castrated. Does get their hooves trimmed every 6-8 months and wormed once a year unless otherwise needed.
